Korean KT and ArrayComm, a US-based multi-antenna software provider, recently announced that they will cooperate to integrate MAS (Multi-Antenna Signal) processing technology into WiBro and WiMAX equipment and base stations, which are used by KT to deploy a WiBro network in the 2.3GHz band in Korea. The technology will improve the coverage, data transmission rate, and call capacity of the WiBro network. Furthermore, the field tests of MAS-enabled devices are expected to kick off in the forth quarter of 2006.
